Lost Salon

Lost Salon was founded in 2012 by Jane Hartman and Carlie High, two Bay Area Beauty School graduates who set sail on a journey without quite knowing where it would take us. With a little bit of trust, a lot of fun, and several work meetings in our pajamas, we embarked on what would turn into a meaningful friendship with a work-wife status. It was Jane’s idea to call the Salon Lost, and while it took some convincing; when she couldn’t find the perfect place in her home for the Sea Witch, the model ship officially became Lost’s first piece of decor and proved to be an inspiration piece.  The second decoration? A lantern.
We quickly learned that starting a small business was much less daunting than one might perceive it to be, and our first year as newly licensed cosmetologists flew by.  We moved into our second location- and second renovation- (completed by ourselves and Jane’s now husband, Alex)- and brought on two more stylists. Just a year later, we were ready to expand again and thats when we found our current location, with out actually looking for it. (We were driving down Park and spotted the sign in the window, decided to pull over and take a look, and the rest is, well… ourstory.
Ourstory: noun Pronounced: hour.story.
Definition: A way to introduce the past without setting up a gendered implication. History reads His story. There is no Herstory in the American English language as of yet. Therefore, I give you Ourstory. 
Our vision then, was to create a space for everyone to be styled in comfort, with our first priority being YOU!  We therefore specialize in listening to what you want and what you need; thus tailoring the cut and color that suits your lifestyle.
