Owner David Michael Garcia opened David Michael Salon in River Oaks in 2005.

A well-traveled Houston native, his passion for hair developed during his teenage years spent in local punk rock clubs, and further blossomed during his training as a fine artist at the University of Texas in Austin. Passionate about color and aesthetics, he later completed beauty school and apprenticed with well-known Swiss stylist Alexander Zbindin, learning European styling methods. He then trained with stylist Nick Arrojo of New York, known for his role on TV’s “What Not to Wear.”

As an innovator, creator, team leader and mentor, David Michael has more than 25 years of experience, five of which were spend as a highly respected Sebastian Educator and Platform Artist. He continues to hone his skills and receive inspiration for his work from art, travel, fashion, music and culture.
